Born in Spain but he was established in Paris by 1905. His full name was Claudio Castelucho Diana, but he was usually referred to as Castelucho. He taught art there at the Academy of La Grand Chaumière, where he had many pupils who went on to establish reputations of their own. His own paintings were bright and full of movement. He also owned an art supply store in Paris, used by Picasso and others.
