Juan Joaquín Agrasot was a Spanish painter from the Valencian Academy, and after receiving a pension from the Delegation of Alicante in 1863, he transferred to Rome where he is profoundly influenced by the Classical works.
In 1874 he returned to Valencia dedicating himself to painting regionalism's subjects which bring him great international fame. As a painter of magnificent nudes, he is praised for his great painting abilities. In 1898, he is named the Academic of San Carlos, becoming a figure of great importance in the development of the classical nude figure.
